Theophano Art Hotel occupies a group of five stone buildings within the historic Monemvasia Castle, situated on Chrisafitissa Square. This open space inside the traditional settlement offers views toward the sea from its position in front of the castle walls. The buildings have been carefully restored with attention to ecological practices and preservation of existing archaeological elements, dating back several centuries as part of the family estate of poet Yiannis Ritsos.
Each room at Theophano Art Hotel is individually designed, with no two rooms being the same. Balconies and windows throughout the property provide views of the sea and the Castle. The interior spaces are furnished with a curated collection of antique furniture and artworks, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional mansion. A homemade Greek breakfast is served daily in the spacious dining area, which features multiple windows with unobstructed sea views.
Accommodation extends beyond the guest rooms to include comfortable stone arched lounges and a large roof terrace that offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. The historical Portelo, an opening in the defensive walls that serves as a swimming spot, is located approximately 20 metres from the hotel. Parking is available outside the main gate of the Castle, as the hotel is situated within the pedestrian-only traditional settlement.
