Booking Terms

Booking Terms

This English text is a translation provided for your convenience. The legally binding version of these terms is the German version. In case of any discrepancy, the German version prevails.

In short: When you book accommodation through followmetogreece.com, you enter into a contract with the accommodation you have chosen. We (Followmetogreece | TDS Reisen, Munich) act as your booking agent. You pay securely via Stripe. Depending on the rate you select, you either pay the full amount immediately (non-refundable rates) or only a small processing fee today and the remainder of the accommodation later (refundable rates). Every amount, date and cancellation rule is clearly displayed before payment. Please read these terms carefully.

1. Scope

These Booking Terms (the “Terms”) govern your use of the online booking service on followmetogreece.com and the purchase of accommodation services offered by independent partner accommodations via our platform.

By ticking the acceptance box at checkout and completing a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms, the rate-specific cancellation policy of your booking, and our Booking Privacy Notice.

These Terms apply to bookings made through our current checkout process. Bookings made before the introduction of our split-payment system, or bookings where no payment schedule is shown at checkout, are subject to the payment and cancellation rules that applied at the time of booking.

2. Contracting parties

2.1 Accommodation contract. The accommodation contract is concluded directly between you (the guest) and the accommodation you book. Followmetogreece | TDS Reisen (“we”, “us”, “Followmetogreece”) acts solely as a booking agent. We do not own, manage or operate the listed accommodations and are not a party to the accommodation contract itself.

2.2 Our role. We provide the booking platform, process your payment via Stripe, transmit your reservation to the accommodation’s channel-management system (e.g. WebHotelier) and support you before and during your stay. The accommodation is responsible for providing the accommodation and the services on site.

2.3 Mediation of single accommodation services. Via followmetogreece.com we mediate single accommodation services only. We do not put together package tours within the meaning of § 651a of the German Civil Code (BGB) and do not arrange linked travel arrangements within the meaning of § 651w BGB. A travel insolvency-protection certificate (Reisesicherungsschein) is not legally required for the mediation of single accommodation services.

3. Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to contract. By booking, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate, complete and truthful. If you book on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have their consent and authority to do so.

4. Your obligations

  1. Provide correct guest details (name, email, phone, address) and a valid payment card in your name or with the cardholder’s permission.
  2. Read the rate description, included services, taxes, the payment schedule and the cancellation policy before you confirm and pay.
  3. Keep your email address and phone number reachable before, during and after your stay.
  4. Inform the accommodation directly of any special requirements (accessibility, dietary needs, arrival time, etc.). We forward your requests but cannot guarantee they will be met.
  5. For refundable rates with later payment, ensure that your stored card is valid and has sufficient funds when charges fall due.

5. Prices, taxes and fees

5.1 Displayed prices. Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout (usually EUR). If your bank converts the amount into another currency, exchange rates and bank fees are outside our control.

5.2 Price transparency. The total price of your booking is clearly displayed on the checkout page before payment. You see every amount due immediately, all payments scheduled for later, and the total booking amount. After your confirmation we add no hidden fees. Additional costs can only be the on-site fees set out in section 5.3.

5.3 Taxes and fees payable on site. Applicable taxes and fees are shown at checkout where known. Certain local visitor taxes, resort fees, environmental levies or other charges may still be payable directly at the accommodation and are not always included in the online price.

5.4 Processing fee (refundable rates only). For rates with free cancellation within a defined period (“refundable rates”), we charge at checkout a non-refundable processing fee of 5% of the accommodation value for the relevant room/rate line. This fee is the consideration for our own mediation and service (payment processing, platform operation, booking administration and customer service) and is not part of the accommodation price. The term “free cancellation” refers exclusively to the accommodation price. The processing fee is itemised separately before payment and is non-refundable under any circumstances, including cancellation within the free-cancellation period.

5.5 Mandatory accommodation deposits. Some accommodations or rates require an advance payment (e.g. high-season deposits under the accommodation’s rules). Where applicable, such deposits are shown at checkout, charged together with the processing fee, and subject to the accommodation’s own payment and cancellation rules.

6. How a booking works — step by step

  1. You select dates, room and rate on followmetogreece.com.
  2. On the checkout page you review your stay details, guest information, the total booking value, the amount due now, any future scheduled payments and the cancellation policy for each room/rate.
  3. You accept these Booking Terms, our Booking Privacy Notice and — where applicable — consent to storing your card and to later charges.
  4. You complete the booking bindingly via the button marked “book with obligation to pay” and are redirected to the secure Stripe payment page to pay the amount due now.
  5. After successful payment we confirm your reservation in the accommodation’s system and send you a booking confirmation by email with a voucher and payment schedule.
  6. Remaining amounts from your payment schedule are charged automatically from your stored card on the scheduled date, unless you cancel in time under the applicable cancellation policy.

7. Payment methods

Depending on the rate you choose, one of the following payment models applies. The applicable model is always shown on the checkout page and on your booking voucher.

7.1 Non-refundable rates — full payment at checkout

For a non-refundable rate, the full accommodation amount (plus mandatory extras or accommodation deposits, where shown at checkout) is charged immediately on payment via Stripe. No further balance is scheduled. These rates cannot be cancelled free of charge.

7.2 Refundable rates — split payment (processing fee now, remainder later)

For a refundable rate with an active free-cancellation period, the following applies:

  1. Due now at checkout: the 5% processing fee (non-refundable) for the relevant room/rate, plus any mandatory accommodation deposits or extras for that line.
  2. Due later: the remaining accommodation balance for the relevant room/rate, automatically from your stored card on the charge date shown at checkout.
  3. Your card is securely stored by Stripe so that the scheduled balance can be collected without a further manual payment.

You must expressly consent to card storage and future automatic charges by ticking the separate consent box at checkout where this payment model applies.

7.3 Mixed bookings (several rooms or rates in the cart)

If your cart contains several rooms or rates, each line may have its own cancellation deadline and its own payment schedule. Non-refundable lines are charged in full at checkout. Refundable lines follow the split-payment model above. The checkout page and voucher show a combined “due now” amount and a payment schedule per room/rate line.

7.4 Minimum payment amount

Our payment provider Stripe requires a minimum charge (currently EUR 0.50). If the calculated amount due now is below this, it is raised to the Stripe minimum at checkout. This is shown on the checkout page before payment.

8. When scheduled balances are charged

For refundable rates, the accommodation balance for each room/rate line is not charged on the last day of free cancellation. Instead, the charge is made automatically on the charge date shown in the payment schedule.

This date is 7 days before the free-cancellation period ends for the relevant line. This gives both you and us enough time to resolve payment problems before the accommodation’s cancellation fees can apply.

Example: If free cancellation for a room ends on 18.06.2026, 06:00 (accommodation local time), the balance for that room is scheduled for around 11.06.2026 (7 days earlier) — as shown on the checkout page and voucher.

All dates and times in the payment schedule are shown in the European format (DD.MM.YYYY, HH:MM) where a time is given.

9. Payment reminders and confirmations

We keep you informed about upcoming and completed payments:

  1. Before a scheduled balance charge: reminder email about 10 days before the free-cancellation period ends for the relevant line (about 3 days before the charge date).
  2. When a scheduled charge is executed: an email on success (with payment details) or notice of required action on failure.
  3. Booking confirmation: immediately after a successful first payment you receive a confirmation email with booking reference, voucher link and full payment schedule.

Please check your spam folder if you do not receive an email within 15 minutes of booking.

10. Payment security, Stripe and card storage

10.1 Payment provider. All card payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (or an affiliated Stripe company) — a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment provider.

10.2 What we never see or store. We do not store, see or have access to your full card number, CVV/CVC or PIN. You enter card details directly on the secure Stripe payment page.

10.3 Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). Under EU payment law (PSD2), your bank may require additional verification (e.g. 3-D Secure) at payment or for later automatic charges. You are responsible for completing the steps your bank requires.

10.4 Storing your card for later charges. For refundable split-payment bookings, Stripe stores a secure payment token of your card so that scheduled balances can be charged automatically. By giving the separate consent at checkout, you authorise us to charge the amounts stated in the payment schedule on the stated dates using this stored payment method, until the booking is completed or effectively cancelled under the applicable policy.

10.5 Updating your card. If a scheduled charge fails or your card expires, you can update your payment method via the secure card-update link on your voucher page (where available). We recommend updating promptly to avoid your booking being cancelled under the accommodation’s rules.

10.6 Payment guarantee to the accommodation. To secure your reservation in the accommodation’s system, a payment guarantee may be transmitted after booking confirmation. Depending on the technical configuration, this may be our registered agency guarantee card or, in individual cases, a limited virtual payment instrument. Your personal card number is in no case shared with the accommodation via our platform.

11. Failed payments and retries

If an automatic balance charge fails (e.g. due to insufficient funds, an expired card or failed bank authentication):

  1. We retry the charge up to 3 times, usually about 24 hours apart, and notify you by email.
  2. If your bank requires additional authentication (SCA), we attempt to complete the payment within a limited period (up to 7 days, where applicable).
  3. If the payment still cannot be collected, we may contact you, and the accommodation may treat the booking under its cancellation and no-show rules. You remain responsible for amounts due under the rate you selected.

Updating your card on the voucher page may resolve the issue before further steps are taken.

12. Cancellation, changes and refunds

12.1 Rate-specific policies. Each rate has its own cancellation and change conditions. These are shown on the checkout page, on your voucher and in the confirmation email. Please read them carefully before booking. Accommodation policies may provide for tiered fees (e.g. 50% or 100% of the stay) depending on how close to arrival you cancel.

12.2 Cancellation within the free-cancellation period

If you cancel a refundable booking before the displayed free-cancellation deadline for the relevant room/rate:

  1. Your reservation is cancelled with the accommodation under its rules.
  2. Pending scheduled balance charges are stopped — the remaining accommodation balance is not charged.
  3. The 5% processing fee is not refunded under any circumstances.
  4. If the balance was already charged (because the charge date had already passed), it is refunded to your card. The processing fee charged separately at booking is unaffected.
  5. Mandatory accommodation deposits already charged may be refunded or retained under the accommodation’s policy, as shown at checkout.

12.3 Cancellation after the free-cancellation period (late cancellation)

If you cancel after the free-cancellation period ends, or do not show up (no-show), the accommodation’s cancellation fees apply. A cancellation fee may apply up to the amount stated in the rate (e.g. 50%, 100% or another percentage of the stay). If your stored card is on file, the applicable fee may be charged automatically after the cancellation is processed. The processing fee remains non-refundable.

12.4 Non-refundable rates

Non-refundable rates are charged in full at booking. No refund applies for changes of plan, illness, travel disruptions or other personal reasons, unless mandatory consumer law in your country provides otherwise. We strongly recommend travel insurance for non-refundable bookings.

12.5 Changes

Changes to dates, room type or number of guests depend on availability and the accommodation’s conditions and may lead to price changes. Contact us as early as possible. We cannot guarantee that changes are possible.

12.6 How to cancel

Eligible bookings can be cancelled via the cancellation option on your voucher page (where available) or by contacting us as set out in section 22. The cancellation takes effect once it has been successfully processed in our system and with the accommodation.

13. Booking confirmation

A booking is confirmed when:

  1. your first Stripe payment for the amount due now has completed successfully, and
  2. we have received a confirmed reservation from the accommodation’s system and sent you a confirmation email with a booking reference.

If payment succeeds but the accommodation cannot confirm availability, we will inform you and seek a solution, which may include a full refund of the amounts charged for the unconfirmed booking (except where a non-refundable processing fee applies to a confirmed partial service — in which case we explain the outcome).

Keep your confirmation email and voucher link for check-in and support enquiries.

14. Payment schedule and receipts

After booking, the voucher and booking page show a payment schedule with all payment events: processing fees, deposits, balances, cancellation fees, refunds and their status (paid, scheduled, failed, cancelled or refunded). This schedule is the reference for amounts already charged and still scheduled.

Where applicable, electronic payment receipts or invoices are issued for completed payments.

15. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU (Consumer Rights Directive), Article 16(l), and its German implementation in § 312g(2) no. 9 BGB, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation services connected with leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance.

Your right to cancel is therefore governed exclusively by the cancellation policy of the rate you select under section 12, not by the 14-day withdrawal period.

16. Data protection

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and our Booking Privacy Notice (available at followmetogreece.com/page/booking-privacy).

We collect only the data needed for the booking, communication and legal obligations. Card details are processed by Stripe under its own data-protection and security obligations. By booking, you consent to booking data being shared with the relevant accommodation and its channel partners for operational purposes (check-in, settlement of local taxes, etc.).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

17. Prohibited use

You may not use our platform for fraudulent, speculative, automated or otherwise unlawful bookings. We reserve the right to cancel bookings where we suspect misuse or fraud and to refuse service, without prejudice to further rights.

18. Liability

We act solely as a booking agent. We are not liable for the accommodation, its services, cleanliness, safety, facilities or the conduct of the accommodation or its staff.

For damage arising from injury to life, body or health, and for damage caused by intent or gross negligence, we are liable without limitation under the statutory provisions. For the slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation (a “cardinal obligation”) whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely, our liability is limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise our liability is excluded.

Where our liability is limited or excluded, this also applies to the personal liability of our legal representatives, employees and vicarious agents. Liability under mandatory law, including the German Product Liability Act, remains unaffected.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage such as lost holiday enjoyment, replacement-accommodation costs or missed transport connections, unless mandatory law provides otherwise and within the scope of the liability rules above.

19. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for non-performance or delay due to events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, pandemics, war, terrorism, strikes, official orders or serious technical failures.

In such cases we will endeavour to assist together with the accommodation; however, refunds and rebookings are subject to the accommodation’s own force-majeure and cancellation policies, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

20. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence in the EU/EEA.

Consumer dispute resolution (§ 36 VSBG). We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. The competent general consumer arbitration board is the Allgemeine Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle des Zentrums für Schlichtung e. V., Straßburger Straße 8, 77694 Kehl am Rhein, Germany (www.verbraucher-schlichter.de).

We always strive to resolve complaints fairly and promptly. Please contact us first using the details below.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version valid at the time you tick acceptance and complete payment applies to your booking. The accepted version is stored with your booking.
